MLS Listing Date
Scenarios
1. The Listing Date in the MLS is the date the listing is marketed as Active.
- The agreed date must be clearly stated in the listing contract docs.
2. If the listing was entered into the MLS as an Incoming or Coming Soon status at first
- Update the MLS Listing Date before changing the status to Active.
- Proper documentation for the current MLS Listing Date must be on file.
What is the MLS Listing Date?
- It is the date that the listing is Active.
- It cannot be a date that is AFTER the activation date.
- It is NOT the date the listing is signed/executed.
DOM counts from the Listing Date to the date the listing is Active status.
The day the new listing appears on the Hot Sheet as Active, the DOM should be zero.
Where to properly document the MLS Listing Date?
- It can be stated in Term A-5 or A-11; Additional Term section of the standard ER or EA Listing Contract, or in an Addendum/Amendment. i.e., the Listing shall be marketed in the MLS as Active on mm/dd/yy.
The Listing Date must be the same date when:
- Listing one property in multiple categories in HICMLS - i.e., listing the property as Single Family and Vacant Lot.
- Listing one property in multiple MLS in Hawaii - i.e., marketing the listing in HICMLS and in HIS or RAM MLS.

-

To correct the Listing Date:
- If the correct Listing Date for MLS is stated on the Listing Contract, but a wrong date was inputted into the MLS, please submit a completed MLS Change Form and the Listing Contract to the MLS Support Team for a date correction.
Reminders:
- The MLS Change Form is not an Amendment so it cannot be used to amend contract terms.
- It is incorrect to use the MLS Change Form to change the Listing Date on the Listing Contract.
